“For the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
-Nehemiah 8:10 KJV
LORD, sometimes my days seem so commonplace and I feel tired and worn.
Thoughts, often invade my mind that the days are forever unchanging.
Most days, finding it hard to experience any Joy, leaving me filled with lowness of spirit.
O, LORD, help me to earnestly seek to go about my days with a positive outlook on life.
Renew in me a new attitude of mind, soul and spirit.
Lord, direct my path and guide me in all Your ways.
May my conduct always reflect a lifestyle in the manner that is worthy of you.
Help me, Lord, to remember that life is a precious gift and that you ultimately hold the key to all Joy.
Lord, lift up Your countenance upon me and cover me in Your Peace, which can only come from you.
Remind me, Lord, that you are the Master planner of my life and it is ‘Your Joy’ that gives me strength.
O, Lord, I can joyfully rejoice; because it is You, that is rejoicing in me.
Daily Prayer Devotional– Lord, How Shall I Value Your Word?
Saturday, March 16, 2019 – By Tina Unsell Seamon
“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”
-Psalms 19:7-8, 10
Lord, how shall I value Your Word?
Shall Your Perfect Truth be revealed?
Shall I desire it more than all the riches this world may offer?
Shall it bring peace and healing to my soul?
Shall I meditate on it night and day?
Shall I consider How profound, How wise, How wonderful Your thoughts are towards me?
Shall I consider the Mighty Works of Your hands?
Teach me Your ways, O LORD.
Train my heart and my mind to love Your Word-grant me the understanding and knowledge of Your Word and hold it close to my heart as the blessed treasure that it is.
~ A Thought For Today ~
As Christians we would never take the Bible for granted. Many might not often realize just how fortunate we are to live in a country where we are able to own a Bible or have access to one. There are many countries still today, where owning a Bible is dangerous and forbidden. We should always be thankful for the religious freedoms we so often take for granted. The Bible should always be our most treasured of all treasures.
You cry out to Him from the deepest depths of your heart. In your despair you feel as though He is not there. The struggles and trails that you face, continue to endure. You don’t know how you will make it through. You ask God, Where are you? Are you there?
From the very creation of the world. He is there. Even before you were conceived. He is there. When the first uncertain breath of life is taken. He is there. He is with us when our mortal souls awaken. Close beside us in each moment we are given. There to light our way, and lead us home to heaven. He is there.
When your heart is breaking. He is there. With every tear that rolls down your face, He is there. Even if you don’t feel His presence. He is there. When the pain rocks you to the very core of your soul. He is there. He is there with love beyond our understanding, watching over us with a Father’s tender care with all His might and mercy never-ending. He is there.
When we’ve lost our way and wander in our blindness. Help unfailing, when no other help can find us in our despair. He is there. When our broken hearts reach out to Him for healing. There to lift us up and set our spirits singing. He is there.
Oh, the comfort in His promise of salvation. How we praise His name in songs of adoration and grateful prayer. He is there. There to share in all our joy and still our weeping ever constant, ever faithful, never ceasing. He is there.
He’s always been there.
The Lord is near to all who call;
He promised in His holy Word
That if we will draw near to Him,
Our faintest heart cry will be heard.
