Put on the full Armor of God
So that you may withstand the evil day.
Resisting the powers of darkness who cannot tread
Against the believer who gives not one single inch or dismay.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth.
Blessed are those who pursue
The breastplate of righteousness.
A life lived honorable to God is priceless.

With your feet fitted with preparation
That comes from the gospel of peace.
Above all, with shouts of a declaration
Temptations from the wicked will flee.

Take up your helmet of salvation.
The cross has made you free.
You are no longer under Satan’s obligation.
Jesus Christ has redeemed thee.

The sword of the spirit, the Word of God,
His gift we have received.
Blessed are the saints to inherit
The kingdom of God to all who believe.

The sword of the spirit, the Word of God,
Is our greatest weapon of defense.
Did you not know? Did you not hear?
That no evil forces can stand against.

It is by the sword of the spirit
That the enemy is crushed.
It is God who gives the victory.
His sword is what will deliver us.

~ Verse of The Day ~

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”
‭‭- Ephesians‬ ‭6:12-14, 16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

~ A Prayer for Today ~

Heavenly Father, there is a war going on in the spiritual realms. There are foes who are continually fighting for our souls. Satan often uses humans to carry out his malicious schemes. Lord, we know that the battle is not against flesh and blood! Give us the strength to always stand firm. Lord, we need you, this is our daily battle cry! Lord, help us, to remain watchful and faithfully devoted to Christ who loves us and gave His life for us. Then, like Paul, we can say in that last hour, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” (‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬) In Jesus’ name. Amen

I got a letter in the mail today
From a faraway place let’s just say.

It was addressed specifically to me.
I was very excited don’t you see.

I opened it and to my delight
There written in black and white.

A message from the God of grace
To tell me that He has prepared a place.

I’m sending you this letter from home
To remind you that you’re never alone.

Someday, you will look upon my face
And in the Holy place, we will finally embrace.

I’m waiting patiently for that special day
When I can answer all that you’ve prayed.

Do not be afraid when your heart is heavy
From the burdens of life that are scary.

When you don’t know what to do
I will carry and will deliver you.

Keep looking towards the cross!
I sent down my perfect Son to save the lost.

I’m sending this letter right along
To tell you to continue to stay strong.

And someday, you will take my hand.
We will walk together along the crystal white sands.

My child, I promise it won’t be too long
When we will read all the letters from home.

– A Thought For Today ~

The Holy Scriptures are our letters from home.
– St. Augustine of Hippo

~ Verse of The Day ~

“Ye are our epistle (letter) written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle (letter) of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.”
– ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Art: Still Life with Opening Roses by Anne Cotterill

As I entered the room,
I turned to take a look.
And thereupon the table
Was a beautiful book.

Laying beside it was a lovely rose.
So supple, delicate and frail.
Through my window winds,
Oh so softly blow.
The fragrance filled the air.
I wondered who put it there.

I walked a little closer
To take a better look.
My eyes filled with joy
As I opened the book.

I held the book up high
As I looked at the title.
I smiled and started to cry
Realizing it was my bible.

There in black and white
Were the Words of God.
His manual given to us
To teach, instruct and guide.

So softly, I heard Him whisper.
My heart glistened and gleaned.
As I leaned in closer to listen,
His presence was felt but unseen.

Daughter, I love you dearly.
Yes, this is very true.
This is my love letter clearly
Written just for you.

My heart could not contain
The admiration I deeply felt.
His Love will forever remain.
In solace, before Him, I knelt.

Today, God gave me a rose.
A gentle expression of His love.
To show how He often bestows
His grace from heaven above.

With gratitude, the Bible I chose.
Word of God speak!
My blessed book of roses.
A true treasure to keep.

~ Today’s Verse ~

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
‭‭- Isaiah‬ ‭40:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

~ A Prayer For Today ~

Heavenly Father, Your love for me is astounding. From the flowers in the field. Their beautiful fragrance fills the air. From the birds singing in the trees. Oh, how I love their sweet melodies. From the mountain tops high above the clouds. I can’t help, but wonder how far and wide your love abounds. From the oceans deep. Your love for me runs even deeper. Lord, of all the wonderful blessings you have given, my most valued treasure is Your Word. Help me, Father, to always cherish Your Word and keep it close to my heart. Your guidebook is essential to walking in communion with you. For without it, Your children would be lost. Help me, to continually apply scripture to my everyday life and living. So that I may know the right path to take when the storms of life begin to rage. Thank you, Father, for the gift of the Bible. Your inspired, infallible and authoritative written Word, is my most prized possession. As your humble servant, may I walk worthy of such a valuable gift. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

Expressions of His Love

Today, on this blessed Sunday morning, I watched a sermon preached by Pastor J. Don George, on a message entitled, “I’ve Got A Reason To Preach.”

In listening to Pastor George message, he explained all the reasons why he preaches. I started to think about all the reasons why I write?

My mind started racing on all the reasons why I felt God has called me to write.

Was I writing because this was a gift given to me by God? Was I writing specifically for Him? Was I writing to glorify Him! Or was I writing for my own self-gratification, self-worth and desired accomplishments?

That sermon inspired me deeply. Here is my answer to the questions that I had asked myself.

The answer is simple. I write because I know God wants to use me as a vessel to spread His love to a lost and hurting world.

God didn’t give me the gift of writing so that I might be glorified, but rather that He might.

Oh yes, I silently wish in my heart that I could write as elegantly and gracefully as my favorite poet, “Helen Steiner Rice.”

I may not be gifted in the aspects that God gifted Helen, but nonetheless, God bestows certain individual gifts to each of His children.

And His purpose for those gifts given, only He knows. My gifts are no different.

As I have explained previously on my Facebook ministry pages, as well as in the ‘About’ section of this blog, I Write For Jesus!

I even wrote a piece of poetry in 2018 entitled, “FOR JESUS I WRITE.”

I write because God has uniquely gifted me to write.

God has given me the gift of words. I long to draw others closer to Him.

It is my deep desire to share that which invites us into truly knowing God’s heart.

God’s wisdom and His Word are transforming me as a person and as a writer.

Words are like whispers from God; softly spoken to my heart, so I must write.

Like all gifts from Him, I want to surrender writing for the benefit of God’s kingdom, a record for the next generation; as well, as for my own personal growth, testimony and journey.

A record of my walk with Christ and the journey He takes me on each and every day.

The lessons He teaches me through trials, heartache, and joys of life.

The challenges He sets before me through His Word and His leading.

To encourage and inspire as I am encouraged and inspired.

To share what the Lord places in my heart and mind.

Much like you, because of Jesus, I have a story to tell…about God’s grace and provision in my life, so I write about what God has done.

There is power in my story.

“Let the redeemed of the Lord, tell their story!” ( Psalm 107:2)

It is my daily prayer that God will bless my words to become expressions of His goodness.

Today, and always, may He use me as His instrument to inspire and spread His love.

It is my hope for others to experience God’s Truth through, “Expressions of His Love.”

May you be challenged, convicted, and encouraged as He draws you into a closer relationship with Him.

These are just a few of my personal desires and the reasons why I write.

There is much more to my story, which is often revealed through my walk with Christ.

When sharing my writing and/or poetry here… it is always with a gentle and humble heart.

My intentions are pure.

Writing for me peacefully brings me to the place of grace.

Where I can unashamedly express my heart…always with the hope that others will catch a glimpse of His.

All because of Jesus, I’ve got so many reasons to write.

You are always welcome to come along with me on my journey and I hope you find God speaks to you through what is written here and blesses you on your own walk of faith.

May you find rest in the unfathomable riches of His goodness and grace.

Devotion 3-16-19 -Lord, How Shall I Value Your Word?

Daily Prayer DevotionalLord, How Shall I Value Your Word?
Saturday, March 16, 2019 –
By Tina Unsell Seamon

“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”
‭‭-Psalms‬ ‭19:7-8, 10‬ ‭

Lord, how shall I value Your Word?
Shall Your Perfect Truth be revealed?
Shall I desire it more than all the riches this world may offer?
Shall it bring peace and healing to my soul?
Shall I meditate on it night and day?
Shall I consider How profound, How wise, How wonderful Your thoughts are towards me?
Shall I consider the Mighty Works of Your hands?
Teach me Your ways, O LORD.
Train my heart and my mind to love Your Word-grant me the understanding and knowledge of Your Word and hold it close to my heart as the blessed treasure that it is.

~ A Thought For Today ~

As Christians we would never take the Bible for granted. Many might not often realize just how fortunate we are to live in a country where we are able to own a Bible or have access to one. There are many countries still today, where owning a Bible is dangerous and forbidden. We should always be thankful for the religious freedoms we so often take for granted. The Bible should always be our most treasured of all treasures.

I don’t want to look back on my life with regrets.
Things left undone.
Words left unspoken.
Did I give enough?
Did I love enough?
Did I live enough?
Life is a beautiful gift of God.
And time waits for no one.
It is fleeting…
It passes you by.
It rolls on forever.
Like the clouds in the sky.
So don’t let us throw one sweet moment away.
Let’s love.
While we may.
Give what you can.
Whenever you can.
However you can.
By whatever means you can.
Without expecting anything in return.
Love with all your heart.
You can never love too much.
And don’t forget to live.
I mean ‘really live’.
Make life a beautiful adventure.
Because it truly is.
Leave no room for regrets.
Cherish the moments spent.
With those you love.
Life changes.
But, a life breathed with love.
Will forever remain.

Memories of a life well lived are but a treasure only to be imprinted in the hearts of those we love.
Make sure they are good ones.

Expressions of His Love

When she looks in the mirror
The reflection she sees
Is a little old lady
Who looks a bit like me.

Her hair is gray
Thinning and weak
And isn’t lustrous
Like it used to be.

Her eyes aren’t sparkling
With beautiful shades of blue,
She can hardly see out of them
Like she used to.

Her face reveals the toil,
Years of hard work and labor,
Her heart always found joy
In helping thy neighbor.

Though the journey has been hard,
Her old age she cannot hide.
God has always been faithful,
She’s thankful for all He provides.

She finds joy in the Lord,
His Word has been her guide,
While traveling the road of life,
In Him, she could always confide.

Her life has been a blessing,
She could never deny,
Amidst trials and struggles,
Her faith has never wavered,
In Him, she could always rely.

Sustained and strengthened,
By His Promises and Truth,
She finds Hope in Salvation,
In the One who’s love was proved.

The old lady in the mirror she sees,
Is not the afflicted she once believed,
Old age has been her privilege,
God has granted to her to receive.

And Someday very soon,
It won’t be too long,
God in all His glory,
Will be calling her home.

All the earthy burdens,
Along her life’s journey,
Will cease and no longer be
When she stands before Thee.

Her glorified body to receive,
A heavenly reflection she will see
When He takes her hand
and leads her into eternity.
